Games are a technology dependent medium, and therefore will continue to get objectively better over time, regardless of how much nostalgia we may have for games from certain eras. There is no golden age of video games, just as there is no golden age of TV, or movies. The market just becomes a lot more crowded, but the quality of top tier productions are always on the rise.
