That's a show on mtv called decoded. It that episode, she talks about colorism. You come across this sort of stuff in entertainment related progressive stuff more often. 

entertainment-related progressive stuff? They are for-profit, so they're going to capitalize on spicy new terms like that in order to get more attention, I'm not sure whether or not it is something they truly follow, unfortunately I live in Canada so I can't watch the link you sent me.

hmm google "mtv decoded colorism" and you'll find it if you want. I've been seeing the term more often in pop culture. Could just be an American thing.
