If you wanna play that game, you could say each generation sucked balls compared to the last. The NES era was far more revolutionary and original than the SNES era and the PS1/N64 was more revolutionary than the PS2/Xbox generation.
Games have been getting less original and less creative every generation. I really don't see an end in sight either. At least until VR becomes fully realized.
