That's how they are.  It's not so much them being dishonest, rather about survival traits.  Women won't be up front about what they're thinking so they test.  How they feel isn't always up to them either.  Women are basically like cats in how their attention span goes.  You can grab their curiosity if you're mysterious (another great attribute to have, never give away your power or what you're all about, keep her guessing so she remains interested), but if you don't interest them in some way they'll be on to the next thing much quicker than guys especially since they have more choice than guys do in this day and age.
