Backwards compatibility is a bonus sure and if it was added I would have no objections about it but if I had to choose between BC and remasters/remakes I'd choose the latter 10 times over Backwards compatibility. Cause why would I want to play a game that looks obsolete when I can play it looking beautiful and up to date as a remaster or remake? Shadow of the Colossus is the perfect example of what I mean.

And again if Ps3 games were so important to me in 2018 I would simply have kept my PS3 instead of selling it.

So to me BC is a bonus and nothing more.

You can have both. For example Dark Souls is backwards compatible but the Xbox One is also getting Dark Souls Remastered.
