I don't have any stake in any of this thread's conversations but I'd like to correct the assertion that X360 wasn't BC. It very much supported software emulation of the original Xbox. Not all games were supported but the list was substantial enough to be considered decently BC at a minimum.

PS3 had BC (first HW and then emulated) and people happily traded it for lower cost.
