| Hiku said: 1.) I see. So there's a cooldown system too. I like the sound of the level up you get from food as well, and the hidden stats from clothes and how to access them. But can you just look up the hidden stats online, or are they not only hidden but actually inaccessible until you lvl up the store? 3.) The chapter select feature is very nice. This game also has multiple endings. It's hard to explain without spoiling anything but there is one particular big surprise because of this system. -snip- I feel like there's a good chance you'll get to at least Persona 5 and Monster Hunter: World eventually because of the hype and how they are presented. So I'd suggest you play Nier: Automata first. It's a game no videogame fan should miss. Especially if you like rpgs. |
1) I'm sure you could check the stats online, but I haven't so far. Clothes have immediate stat effects like Def+3 for example, but also special abilities. One specific sweatshirt for example stops your partner from getting mad at you for running from battles. Because if you do, your partner will get angry and the so called sync rate between you two gets a little bit lower. Now if you visit a shop and tap the items on display, the shopkeeper might notice you browsing his stuff and tell you about the ability. The higher the shop level, which is increased by continuous purchases, the higher the likeliness of getting to know the abilities. I think, but I might need to check that, the likeliness is also dependent of the clothes your wearing at the moment. Because the game features a bunch of virtual clothing brands and if your clothes match the shop, the keeper may dig your style and grant you access to more abilites. Happened to me a couple of times but I didn't pay enough attention.
Real time like in Pokemon, yes. It checks the internal clock.
3) Now I'm even more excited about Nier: Automata, thanks. But i'm not sure whether I grab P5 or MHW as well because so far I never played any game in their respective series. But I'm not going to rule it out, we will see.
