You point out something telling it's silly, only to follow up with something that's even far more silly. GoW selling 10 million is certainly possible with the hype if the sales ain't very frontloaded, but for Smash doing less than that it must be a totally broken failure to achieve such low numbers On a console with adequate sales numbers like the Switch. As for 3D Mario vs Animal Crossing: AC is generally the bigger seller, because apart from 64, Galaxy and now Odyssey, they really don't sell that well. 7.5M for Galaxy 2, 6M for Sunshine, 5 for 3D World. And all of them had bundles (especially Galaxy, Sunshine and 64) helping their numbers even further. The real sellers are the 2D Marios, which normally sell about 3 times as well as the 3D ones. That said, Odyssey is an obvious masterpiece and selling appropriately. It will, without a doubt, outsell any other 3D Mario by a country mile, considering the best-selling one is 64 with 11.9M sales (Maybe even as soon as the IR Meeting next week). While AC is bigger, it's just slightly so. It will get tough to beat Odyssey for Animal crossing |
