I'm sorry, did you just say that Sony's standards count the most? Most consumer level product that Sony has introduced to the market that has a propietary format/standard have died a slow painful death. Betamax died, MiniDisc died, UMD died, Memory Stick died, Super Audio CD died. Granted they had a bit of a good run going with the video8/hi8/digital8, and they have a stanglehold on the professional video market with Betacam, DAT is also doing well. But on the consumer level where this battle is being fought, Sony don't have a clue or a chance.
