I don't really like the feature myself, but unfortunately the way arguments work on here it essentially is a battle of who can draw out the argument the longest, since if one person doesn't bother to continue it it appears as if they lost, despite the possibility that they're just fed up with having to deal with someone who consistently denies facts.
