Basically.
Square Enix divided its fanbase with its constant changes in every number. Square Enix never really ever cultivated a fanbase of similar passion. It's always about attaining new ones and losing some fans in the process.
That's what I call alienation.
GoW on the other hand besides the new combat system... It's still GoW and has a chance to expand on more players because of the new direction of the series. Kratos being there held up the new take and that's the reason nobody but the hack and slash fans are alienated by the changes.
That's what I'm saying why Square Enix needs to go back to its FF roots in order to appeal to fans of old FFesque games because of how divided the fanbase is. People loves nostalgia and maybe that is the cure to unify the fanbase once again. Just saying.
If someone asks why I'm using an alt account, CGI and Truckusaurus got me a temp approval until I get my iconic and notorious "kurasakiichimaru" account back. :p
