3DS had already received a price reduction though.  So it was selling more, but I would not say the Switch is any less healthy.

I would of liked to think everything the Switch has going for it like better concept/line-up/marketing/etc. is near equal in value to the 3DS price cut. While there were still shortages I thought this could be the case, but alas, what the Switch is selling now the 3DS sold double. I'd still like to think it's possible Switch can match 3DS before getting it's own price cut. Labo and now Yokai are our only hope!

Switch with $300 is still far away from handheld price point, 3DS with price cut had almost twice lower price point than Switch currently has, buy time Switch will have revisions and price cuts wich will probably push Switch price point to $200 or lower (maybe Switch Mini/Pocket), so than relly will Switch start besting in Japan. But current 40-50k weekly base without big releases is good in any case, offcourse later in year with Smash Bros, Yo-Kai Watch 4 and Pokemon or AC, we can exept much higher sales in any case.
