But how many "meaty" proper full length high quality RPGs did the wii have? man it was slim pickings.
3DS owns the Wii+Gamecube when it comes to RPGs to a degree, I think 3DS is a better game library.

I dont "feel" like the wii had that many standout titles tbh.
You got a Wii, the must haves where like:

Xenoblade Chronicles (which 3ds also has)
the Mario Galaxy (I&II) games
Resident Evil 4
DKC-Returns
Skyward Sword

5 big "must have"s imo, but the 3DS has tons of games at that level.

I think we can all agree that Wii wasn't the machine to go to in terms of quality RPGs (at least not reflected in sales). Wii was the machine for, well, Wii games (over 200M copies sold) and other first party games like MK, NSMB, Smash, Galaxy series, Mario Party series, DK and two LOZ games (130M combined).

In terms of excellent 10 RPGs for Wii I can think of, it's Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story, Fire Emblem, Okami, Monster Hunter, Rune Factory, Arc Rise, Pandora's Tower, Tales of Graces and Final Fantasy Fables, which all combined sold less than Mario & Sonic Olympics!!! (around 6.2M). That's 0.7% of all software sales.

Now let's move on to my top 10 3DS RPG titles: Bravely Default, Dragon Quest VII, Etrian Odyssey IV, Fire Emblem Fates, Rune Factory 4, Shin Megami Tensei 4, Yo-Kai Watch, Tales of the Abyss  ... at this point we're already at 9M mark (3%), now add all four Pokemon games and we're hitting almost 60M copies, which is almost 20% of all 3DS's software. And that's excluding Monster Hunter games and Xenoblade Chronicles (16M combined), but there's so many more that it's mind boggling.  There's no questions about it. 3DS is the machine to go for the RPG games in terms of quantity and quality, and that reflects in sales figures.
