Games getting announced too early by Sony?

I think it's ridiculous that anyone announced games more than a year before launch, and I frankly think it should be more like 6 months at most. I don't understand why holiday games aren't just announced at the preceding E3. It's not like dry holiday would be hit any worse by this.
