The controls with this controller can't be that good:

Only a small touchpad + 1 trigger button + 1 "back" button limit the things you can adjust without going through bloated menus of the video player (I don't count the home button since it can only leave the app without other functions).
And there are a lot of things within 180° or 360° videos you want to adjust, preferably without going through menu overlays which obstruct the vew on the content:
First you have to choose the correct format. Is it a 360° video or a 180° video? Is is stereoscopic side-by-side, stereoscopic top-to-bottom or 2D mono without depth? This can be done by properly renaming the video files, if the video app supports that. Otherwise you have to choose the format for every video within the app.

But there are a lot of other tweaks you want to adjust on the fly:
- tilting the camera up or down
- zooming in or out
- recenter the view
- IPD adjustments (interpupillary distance)
- turning on/off "fisheye" (some videos are distorted if you use the wrong setting)
- seeking within the video (fast forward, pause, rewind...)
- skipping to the next/prevous video in the folder
Here are the settings you can adjust without opening menus in my favorite VR video app (Deo VR):

They forgot to label LB (previous video) and RB (next video). The button layout with Oculus touch controllers is similar.
