They are free in the sense that you can play them in full, whenever you want so long as your subscription is active.

If they weren't free then you would have to pay to play them in addition to your subscription fee.

Playing a game in full behind a paywall subscription is NOT the definition of "free" please look up the word in a dictionary or something. Free means you pay nothing to access something.

If a food store told you that what they sell is free but you must pay a fee upon entering the store, would you call that free food? Of course not since you are paying to enter the store. The moment you must shell out money, the goods or service you are getting is by definition NOT FREE.
