Well I didn't like either, but if you want explanations for opinions you're in the right thread. Just go back to people's reviews on each movie and you'll know. I always thought Ultron was underrated but after this latest rewatch I did start to notice some things that are just very wrong with it. I do know how you feel though, because you know, GotG Vol. 2 and all - and this is one that seems to get quite a lot of artificial criticism, some of which is already starting to show here -, but whatever, that's just other people's opinions and it is what it is I guess.

tl;dr people can suck sometimes.

If it makes a difference my wife loved both Guardians movies and she said that Vol. 2 was a even a little better than the first one.  I guess I wanted the plot of Vol. 2 to be "bigger" like the first movie, while she was very content to just have all of the "family" plot lines (e.g. Ego, Yondu, Nebula).
