Any sales-based arguments you use to classify the 360 as a failure (btw, what a trollish sounding way to say it) can be easily used against the PS3 with at least twice their strength.

So if you want people to give the PS3 credit, while still being faithful to reality, you have to give the 360 even more credit, sorry to inform you...
