Pokemon: It can really do a lot better. Sun and Moon was a step forward, but they fucked up the water starter. That and gyms are sort of integral to Pokemon games.

Call of Duty/Battlefield/Shooter of the Month: I'll never understand the joy of dropping $60 every couple of months for a change in setting while retaining what is basically the same game. Titanfall tried to differentiate itself from everything, but then everything became Titanfall (referring to the parkour). Just stop.

Mario (3D): I only kind of liked Mario 64, and every iteration since then has done little to advance the series. A water gun, Kai planets, and a demonic hat. Ooh, I'm so terribly impressed by your garbage story, boring characters, and hot "jumping on people's heads" action. I'm tired of this series getting a pass because Nintendo.

The Legend of Zelda: Here's one that only slightly overrated. Just about every Zelda game is worth a look, and a handful rank among the best games I've played... But most people seem to fluff just how great it is. Which is completely unnecessary, mind you, because you it's a series that can stand on its own without a handicap (*stares at 3D Mario games*).

Grand Theft Auto: I get what it did for the gaming world. It popularized sandbox games. Great, awesome, wonderful. But why do we all still care about a series with shitty stories about unlikeable criminals?

The Elder Scrolls: Is so fucking boooooorrring. If you can't be super deep and fun, then what's the point?

Huh, a standing ovation for you @ CoD, Mario, GTA, TES. My thoughts exactly.
