Oh it certainly can. And I expanded on my thought with an edit between your quote and this post. I think more about what they don't say is important. I am sure Rare would've loved to tap the MMO crowd by calling the game an MMO. They knew though that it wasn't and probably didn't want the backlash of trying to brand it as such. Similar to the issues Bungie faced when they tried to present Destiny as an MMOFPS game.
