3ds also had the market for itself, the only challenge for Nintendo handhelds was the psp

Actually things are quite different compared to 3DS, Switch is selling to home console market also, Switch offers home console IPs also, and Switch offers full home console games. I mean there is reason why Switch is selling better than 3DS whitout huge price cut like 3DS needed to have and despite huge price point difrence $180 compared to $300.
