Isn't humanity the closest thing to a god, this planet has ever seen. We are literally the beings who can decide which species or goes extinct. Humanity as a collective can put nations or cities to ashes with a single weapon, hell we can blow up the etire earth. Although looking to it from that angle humanity is more like Satan's incarnation and image than that of god. We kill, polute, potion, waste, and destroy every ecisystem on the planet for our own advancement. So no we simply can't be (the Christoan version of god), but humanity can become Satan for every being on earth.
