| Wyrdness said: Again you can't get around the fact that a price cut was needed and to top it off the line up part has also debunked as overtime 3DS had an equivalent line up yet still required a price cut this is something you can't argue in anyway as one thing that is universal across all platforms regardless of strategy is that companies don't want to be force into an early price cut. This shows that Switch's strategy off the bat is working far better and going much more to plan than what the 3DS had planned in the same time period. It's intriguing the certain other person seems to have ruffled your feathers to the point they're always on your mind. |
And you can't get over the fact that the 3DS is beating the Switch in Japan launch aligned and no they did not have an equivalent lineup, the Switch actually came out with far stronger software in Japan ... (BotW already passed OoT 3D lifetime sales in Japan, Splatoon 2 has reached nearly 70% of MK7's lifetime sales in Japan but it still continues selling with strong legs and SMO has reach 75% of SM3DL lifetime in Japan)
The real reason why Nintendo doesn't want Switch to match the price of 3DS is because they can't eat the losses with Switch's higher cost of production compared to 3DS hence what I meant by a different strategy, both systems don't even have a similar cost structure ... (Switch made a trade-off to gain more features/higher performance at the expense of design complexity while it was the other way around for 3DS)
Your statement is a kin to that of "we can't compare the market performance between PS3 and PS2 because of price" ...
As far as that certain other person your talking about, not at all. In fact my feelings are closer to that of respect rather than contempt but it's extremely funny how he got derided by the others around here for a similar tactic that you're trying to use against my argument by invalidating it because of the details while getting off scot free too ...
