Why the 3DS? When sales trackers such as NPD call the Switch as a "HOME CONSOLE".

Switch* is literally a powerful handheld that truly mimics home consoles (a hybrid). When it is all said and done, it will have no disadvantages compared to 3DS.

Handhelds' main selling point is their portability. Switch has exactly that. Right now, its high pricepoint and Nintendo's unwillingness to abandon 3DS are harming it to an extent. But once the price goes down, and Nintendo completely unifies their library, the Switch will fully inherit the strengths of a cheap handheld. What I'm trying to say is.. being a hybrid will ultimately put it in an even more favorable position than a normal handheld.

In Japan: Hybrid > Handheld > Home Console. With this bias in mind, Switch's performance isn't all that impressive so far. Sony might never opt to make an equivalent to the Swtich, because their home consoles sell too well outside Japan. They can't risk the world to just improve their situation in Japan alone. Whereas Nintendo got nothing to risk after the failure of Wii U.

I dont know how this is relates to my comment.

I was just fixing this fatslob user's false information.
