That's exactly right. Too many on the net only care about the sales figures or scores.. instead of worrying about the main thing, does the game have a place? It certainly does, it has its audience, and that's what matters. The game wasn't meant to get 10s, it was meant to create an experience. Its a sandbox game finding those long serving customers much like what MMOs do.
World of Warcraft isn't a 95+meta game yet go argue with a fan of WoW? The score does not matter, the fun does.
Also to add, No Man Sky's issue was not the content for me, it was the lies that Hello Games and Sony did to promote it. I expected a simpler version of Star Citizen and got nothing but a Minecraft in space with no MP. That's what hurt me. Rare has been honest from the start with SoTs and the game is a start for much more to come.
Iv played it, its no 10/10, however it doesn't have to be.
