| StarOcean said: Gamefreak handles reboots more subtly than other series and people may be disappointed by what is meant by “reboot”. Pokemon Black and White were reboots. Nearly 1:1 reboot of Gen 1 with Pokemon in Gen 5 directly mimicking the Gen 1 Pokemon. Some also consider Gen 6 a soft reboot in which games from Gen 6 onwards have no canonical relevance to Gen 1-5, with the exception of Pokemon Emerald... but thats spoiler territory Reboot can mean many things for Pokemon, none of which include Pokemon changing its gameplay much. We’ll probably see either: a. A remake of Gen 1 w/ Switch hardware b. Gen 8 being a reboot similar to how Gen 5 was c. Gen 8 being a soft reboot like Gen 6 was All I know is, I believe that Mega Evolution will be cut in the process |
In B and C examples I wouldn't call them reboots than. They just have no link to past stories.
