I’d also like to point out that the left wing of the US has a vocal group of people whom are also extremely racist. Whether it be ignorantly or purposefully -it is not excusable. They, like their right wing brethren are not and should not be excused for their behavior.

But since I already commented on the right wingers in this thread already, a good example of left wing racism would be the announcement of Jon Favreau as the writer of the live action Star Wars series coming out later on. I cannot even comprehend the hypocrisy and stupidity running out of the mouths of not just commenters but also Hollywood elites saying that they were disappointed he was picked rather than a black woman, gay man, or whatever. It’s like Jesus Christ, imagine if someone had said that for a female lead! Oh wait, we saw that with many of the reactions towards Rey. The Star Wars fanbase is actually a good place to look at everything wrong with American partisan politics today

Well, Disney and LucasFilm kind of brought this one on themselves.  Right after both bragged about their diversity, they announce this guy on International Women's Day.  That's an invitation to have your "diversity" questioned and made worse when it was discovered that 96% of the IP's creative positions are white men.  They asked for this one.  I get what you're saying and it can go way overboard sometimes but this one was self induced.

I can agree the timing was bad. At the same time though, there’s a holiday like everyday now. But yes, it could have been timed better. But the behavior is still inexcusable.
