Unfortunately, you are speaking from a position that is not impacted by the problem and therefore you don't experience it and so to you, it doesn't exist. |

She writes there but not that piece. Did you even bother to read it? Any of it? Any of those? And your horseshoe theory insinuation doesn't apply. Experience in a given context based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, etc..has more validity than by those who do not experience it because of their race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, etc.... You are trying to make it appear negatively discriminating when it's not. Is a mother or a father more likely to provide information on the experience of pregnancy and child birth? You are claiming that I am being sexists if I say the mother. Is a 5 year old or an 65 year old more likely to provide information on the experience of being 60? According to you, I'm being ageist if I say the sexagenarian. Is a Muslim or a Baptist more likely to provide information on the experience inside a Mosque? By your reasoning, I am being discriminatory if I say the Muslim. Therefore, if I dismiss a white male for denying systemic racism, you can't call that itself as racism. It's a factor of experiencing the issue at hand. |
She writes there is good enough to say anything from there is trash. Sift out the opinion pieces, blogs, anything using anecdotal experiences as proof. I want actual data from objective sources or unbiased facts that's backed up.
I requoted the intial post I responded to so maybe we'll get back to the root of this. We're not talking about experiencing pregnancy or going to a mosque.
You're using his race as a basis to undermine his argument. He can't know of systemic racism because he's white, right?
