Sure, be happy with ports if that's what you want. I mean who even needs original content, right? I love lazy ports i.e. Doom @ 576p 20 fps. The switch definitely cannot handle ports that aren't from a decade ago which have outdated graphics and meh gameplay design so it needs original content that are more optimised for its hardware. |
Its not hard to understand that some people didnt play those ports ever, espacily when we talk about Wii U ports that had very limited userbase that Switch already passed few months ago, so for those people those games are practically new. Also all those games extra value for people that play them beacuse now they can play them in full handheld mod. Calling Doom 20 fps is totally wrong, it have dips to 20 fps but most of time runs at 30 fps. Switch can handle every port of devs really want to port some game to Switch, Wii handheld ports PS3/360 CoD games, and difrence betwine Wii and PS3/360 was much bigger than between Switch and XB1/PS4, going from brute source to new APIs, tools, tech/architecture.
So we getiing to questions why Switch has so many ports!? Because for new games it needs copule of years of development, why you can port game thats already out in less than year, and with point that plenty of devs didnt want to go from start with Switch support after Wii U, we seeing so much ports beacuse they can be done in few months.
