While i think you're reading too much into the copyright information i think it's fairly certain that this is going to be somewhere in between a strait port and a new game. At least that's how Nintendo will market the title. I think it's going to be a port with improved online play, new stages, new characters, maybe even some a new single player mode like subspace emissary. Basically the ultimate Smash Bros game.
