I wasn't responding to that point cause well it's pretty mute. Showing something in this direct doesn't mean it can't still be shown at E3, infact it only means the opposite, that it will definitely show up at E3. Now I ask that you please explain how not setting yourself up for disappointment/setting yourself up to be surprised is foolish. Agreed this direct should be better than the mini, Fire Emblem alone would make it so to me. |
Your question wasnt even the point I was trying to make but ok, Ill answer.Simple answer is:Because its fun.
If someone says that he needs to keep his expectations in check, then he is already hyped in the first place. So no point in trying to fool yourself because when the games you want to show up arent there, you are going to be dissapointed either way.So there is no point in doing that charade.Though I will say that its also pointless to create unreasonable expectations such as "Red Dead 3 is comming to the Switch!" for no reason at all.But wanting to see Nintendo games on a Nintendo direct is normal.
Outside of that, its the fun of the direct and conferences in general, predicting and all.Thats why, at least partly, people participate in forums. To discuss about stuff we love.Comming in and saying "OK, I would love to see those 4 titles I want, but I will keep my expectations in check and expect none or one title for some reason because thats super fun" and predicting nothing is lame.As long as it is in moderation, we all should just jump in the fun.
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
