Yep. Although it being a "trend" doesn't necessarily affect how impressive it is. There's also a new trend of Nintendo games selling better than ever before. That's impressive. All things considered I'm way more impressed by how Mario Odyssey fared than COD and Fifa (and if we want to talk about trends, then there's nothing new here in even the slightest). These titles did great though, just saying these 10m figures had me thinking.

COD had been declining for awhile now, so yes it is something new.

I would argue that in terms of trends this is not something new. We're extremely far into this generation by now and what it's basically shown is that when COD can kick it into gear and provide a product that gets the entirity of it's potential fanbase excited it will sell well. That's why BLOPS 3 was one of the best selling CODs. So no, it's not really a new "trend". COD's just stabilizing in terms of sales, with the occassional monolithic title selling tons of copies. WW2 is just another example. Not a new trend. It is impressive though, I think it's outselling BLOPS 3 by 700k in the same timeframe? But BLOPS 3 still sold 10m by this week.

It's pretty crazy how close Mario Odyssey came to that on a significantly smaller install base ...

Yeah its a shame that Nintendo can't release a 10 million selling Mario game every year, unlike FIFA on PS4.

Yep. Other companies must really be jealous. In terms of revenue COD and Fifa are some of the biggest boys around.
