Right, because the NRA is to blame for the mass shooting in FL last week, not:

-The deranged psychopath himself, who has a long, LONG history of violent outbursts and behavioral issues that were so bad he was not only kicked out of multiple schools but also outright banned from the campus of the school he eventually shot up and was NOT ALLOWED TO CARRY A BACKPACK ON CAMPUS!!!

-The incompetence of local law enforcement, who had been called to the shooter's house dozens of times over the last several years for violence / behavioral issues, yet nothing substantial was ever done about it, and who had an armed deputy posted inside the school AS THE SHOOTING WAS HAPPENING and instead left the building to take cover outside and did nothing to stop the shooter or save the lives of students being shot like fish in a barrel inside.  But hey... the local Sheriff who was busy grandstanding at CNN's townhall circus show this past week and who blames the NRA (who else?!?) for the shooting still thinks his men did an "amazing job!" in their followups with Cruz and response to the shooting:

-The even bigger incompetence of the FBI, who had received multiple tips and warnings about the threat that Nicholas Cruz posed to both himself (he was suicidal in the past) and others with his numerous posts on social media claiming he wants to be a school shooter someday, yet they never followed up on any of these leads.  And because of the incompetence above with following up on any red flags on Cruz, background checks on him were now useless because he was never flagged in the system to begin with.

I'm not a fan of the NRA, but I support their right as an organization to lobby and fight for gun owners' rights, even though I think they are at the very least tone deaf in the aftermath of mass tragedies like the one last week.  But just out of curiosity... how many people do you know out there that are currently banned from entering school grounds with a backpack for fear they might do something like oh, I don't know... bring a gun to campus and shoot up the school???

Instead of demonizing gun owners / 2A supporters and using the NRA as your personal scapegoat the way the Sheriff and so many others on the Democrat / liberal side of the aisle have done over the past week and a half, how about focusing on the colossal failures of government officials from the top down to protect our kids and enforce laws that are already on the books?  Instead of making a bunch of new "feel-good" laws like an "assault weapons ban"-  which BTW we had in the 90s and yet mass shootings like Columbine (13 killed without the need for an AR-15) and the DC sniper incidents (carried out with an AR-15 variant designed to be "legal" under the assault weapons ban) were still able to take place, let's take steps to implement meaningful solutions that not only focus on keeping guns out of the hands of people like Cruz, but also focus on removing people like Cruz from the general public where they can no longer be a threat to others.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
