That wasn't a strawman nor was it directed at you.

You conveniently overlook other possibilities on the very graph you linked. What Kimishima seems to be talking about strikes me much more as equilibrium. People are paying the MSRP for the product and it's not available at certain retailers so customers go to retailers where it is available. The Switch seems to be under control in Japan. No surplus.

fatslob, make sure not to fall into a self-confirming bias when it comes to the Switch slowing down. Just as a heads up, we are going into one of the slower quarters of the year where everything will indeed "slow down."

@Bold You think I don't realize these recurring long term past trends ? Of course we're headed into the slower quarters of the year ...

I certainly won't deny the possibility of an equilibrium, although it's arguably closer to the right side than it is to the left side ...

I think the stock is improving. But base on your graph, I doubt we’ll see a permanent price cut this year. Maybe a Black Friday deal or Christmas deal but nothing permanent at this time. The Switch is still selling and Nintendo intends to NOT sell at a loss as they originally stated. Unless something happens and sales are at a point where they are going to bleed money and the parts are cheaper to produce and all, then maybe a price cut could happen.
