Had the industry NOT done what I said, it wouldn't even have MADE it to PS3 because that's how it operated from Atari 2600 to then.

But.... the industry hasn't done what you said. Nintendo never did, except for the Wii U and 3DS, which coincidentally were their worst performing consoles ever. The PS3 also was Sony's worst performing console ever, despite Sony eating a much larger loss on it than on the PS1 and 2.
