How is it a sign that the system has peaked? The Switch is still supply constrained. If you track Yodobashi Camera, Bic Camera, or Amazon JP you see that Nintendo makes weekly shipments that typically sell out within a few days. If anything, as of right now anyways, it shows that Nintendo has not even caught up with demand yet in Japan. That is not a sign that a system has or is close to peaking. We will get a sign of what the system's baseline looks like once there is a steady supply in Japan. Of course, I am not dismissing the idea that it might peak this year (it all depends on its momentum and if Nintendo can maintain it), but there is just no sufficient evidence right now (we still don't even have a stable baseline based on demand).
