Disagree. Bayonetta 2's combat was toned down to the point where you could die, replay, and still walk away with a Gold or Platinum medal. It also didn't have anywhere near the amount of secrets, unlockables or easter eggs that the original had. Always believed that it was viewed so highly mainly due to it being a Nintendo exclusive. |
I agree I played both, but I completed bayonetta 1 multiple times even tried to plat all missions on normal (which is hard) and hard (which is very hard). Yet I did not feel that urge during the second part, which also had a terrible story. The first story was also pretty bad, but it had at least some fun moments. As for combat I like the first better, I like the weapons from the first part better and which time was much more important in the first part then the second part to get those insane combos necessary for that sweet, sweet platinum.
