It SHOULD be 2018 imo because after five years, consoles get boring and stale for me. I own all three and I've owned the PS4 since it launched. It was a good console but, yeah... there's no buzz anymore. Its games aren't achieving graphical or technical advances anymore... its done.
I'd be interested in a PS5 if it was announced for this fall but there's no way Sony would do that because, money. I'll probably just finish up my backlog of current generation games, put the console away when I'm done and wait to see what they do with their 9th generation console.
