| Intrinsic said: Yup, the XB1 dropped like a rock as predicted. Their problem is one that would take years to fix. And thats assuming they start now. Doing 80k weeks worldwide is just bad. Thats like saying they have a 350k average a month while nintendo and sony will be pushing like 1M a month. I think the demise of the XB1 is more relevant than if the NS sold over 13M or 14M. The thing is already going to be a 50M plus selling console and probably in record time. The PS4 has hit every relevant milestone it needs to hit and is for sure going to hit the 100M one eventually. Whats worthy of discussion here is the XB1. |
I had a post all done up, nice and pretty, but decided not to post it, due to being a bit similar to one a made a couple months ago. I agree with you that Xbox is in a less than healthy position, and fixing it is going to be tough. I think they're pretty much fucked in the foreseeable future as far as competing with Sony and Nintendo is concerned. They've been messing up for so long now, since before this gen started, that the position they find themselves in, at the very least, isn't a surprise. The X has arguably weakened their position, as it has done almost exactly jack and shit in terms of bolstering their numbers, and will serve to further inhibit their ability to release a successor the the XB1 and compete with Sony's next offering in a timely manner. And, as has been said around these parts by myself and others, it's probably going to be more difficult than ever to convince customers to jump ship and switch over to Xbox from PS, or vice versa. Sony would have to start rounding up people and putting them into work camps for me to consider bailing on my connection to the PS ecosystem, my friends, and my digital library.
