Done! I liked Iron Man 3 more during this rewatch.
Director Shane Black is really good with action and character writing and it’s on full display here. The plot is almost inconsequential — I just love spending time with these characters, laughing with them, suffering with them, learning with them. And I really like the action, especially the DIY stuff with Tony. I think this movie more than any other shows how heroic he is, as he spends much of the movie suitless.
Some cons: the editing is a little wonky, the cinematography is workmanlike (true of all these MCU movies), and I could do without the voiceover narration.
But the screenplay, which is filled with humor, subverted expectations, and great characterization, lifts the whole thing up.
