So what’s going on here?! Violence and crime that is still a fifth of the USA?!

I live in Berlin, we took in a relatively large amount. Our city is many times safer than any US American city at night.

I guess they don’t tell you facts like that on Trump rallies.

No matter how many people from those countries tell and show them otherwise, there are people who are going to believe what they want to believe. What they hear on Fox News, Infowars, Breitbart, etc. White nationalist alternative media outlets, calling themselves alt-right or whatever is the flavor of the day are very effective in spreading so called fake news, while proclaiming to be combating it.

I've been in my fair share of discussions with people (usually Americans) who believe they know significantly more about the apparent 'hellscape' that is my country, than myself who has lived there for most of my life. When their claims are disproven by studies/facts, they just strawman the argument, and their view never changes.

Yeah, I know. It still makes me angry those misguided people believe nonsense like this. You know, me and my family actually do help refugee families from Iraq and Syria. Helping them move, get furniture for them, clothes. All unpayed of course. Beautiful families who had to leave their countries because Americans and allies destroyed them or helped destroying them.

It’s just sad people are getting fooled by sensational fake news like this when the situation is like it is.

The worst actually is to not know if they will be able to stay, even though they try to integrate very well.
