4k vs VR - what is better ?

VR is a major enhancement in every single aspect of of the way we use electronics, the way we communicate with each other, and the way we live our lives. 

4K alone, is just another minor progression on the same thing we have had in our homes since the 60's.

4K HDR is a significant leap over previous display tech. On a traditional display it offers a worthy step forward, but it will change the world in VR.

 

VR offers everything a 4K display can offer, plus an unlimited amount of new functionallity. In all honesty, it is not even a remotely close battle. 

Looking just at current games that offer VR and 4K, Gran Turismo Sport and Resident Evil 7 to name two, I have absolutely no interest in ever playing those games on any traditional display after playing in VR. 

After playing Arizona Sunshine and Farpoint with the Aim controller, I have very little interest in Traditional TV and Controller based FPS's. The expereince and the incredible leap in gameplay are something that can not be matched with a retro setup.

Now that I have played Skyrim in VR, stuff like Horizon and Zelda feel like I am disabled when I go back to them. The lack of controllability, the limited FOV, and the loss of immersion make it feel dull in comparison.

Then you go to stuff like Carnival Games, I Expect You To Die, Superhot VR, Accounting+, Job Simulator, and many more, and these are expereinces that are not possible anywhere but in VR. 

 

VR is next gen everything. 4K is almost pointless. HDR, However, does deliver a quantum leap over previous traditional displays.
