The Previous 2 AC also have meta scores of 54 + 63%. 

Its not like LVL5 has had any real breakout game since the last NNK over 4 years ago, except YW which they have practically run to the ground. And they have failed countless times in their mobile efforts. Not exactly the epitome of proficient tbqh. (but NNk2 will be good I know)

So what did they improve from the beta then?

and sure VC4 should be good too. I was thinking of that awful spin-off at the time.

I don't know, but you gotta be pretty confident in the game quality to let people try the game for free a full week before the release.

Whilst Level 5 have had multiple failed games and IPs, their successful IPs tend to keep getting a good reception (Layton, Inazuma Eleven, Dark Cloud, WKC).

Not sure what happened to Ace Combat. I like planes as much as I love war, I don't really care about this series.
