It might be unpopular, but if Microsoft made the NFL and FIFA exclusive to their platforms I have to imagine it would sell a shit ton of consoles. Unlike the NBA, with Madden and FIFA (aside from being extremely popular) that monopoly EA has with them would probably force those who cared enough to jump ship. I'm not sure how well that would motivate Europeans, but in the fickle NA market which tends not to show "loyalty" to any one platform that could have a rather profound impact on them.
Still, isn't EA too dang big to just "buy"? Seems like this would never happen. As for Nintendo, I really don't think it would impact them much at all; only Sony would really be sweating such a deal.
