What's your stance on usage of game/strategy guides while playing?

Back in the day, I liked them for the art. The times I do buy them now it's just because of a series or game I really want to support. In a game like Botw, it might be easier to look up the Shrine name in the guide than look all over the map as I tend to miss it somehow over and over.
