Not saying MS will necessarily buy EA, I really have no idea, but if they want to pursue a Netflix style service for gaming in the near future - which is something I believe every major publisher needs to work on in the next 5 years or so - then such a purchase would make a lot of sense. Also, a corporation doesn't make acquisition decisions based on fear of "oh if we buy out these guys, our competitors might buy out these other guys, etc." That's just nonsense.
