Quality isn't subjective, and people really need to stop acting like it is. Just because one likes or dislikes something to varying degrees doesn't change it's overall quality. Witcher 3 is easily one of the best RPGs ever made, and anyone who makes an argument that it's not, is simply flat out wrong.

Quality is certainly not subjective. However, no one ever says "The objective quality of the Witcher is some of the best in RPGs ever". However, quality is only one part of what makes a thing "the best" for someone. Quality isn't even an argument when certain elements you're looking for are completely missing or if there are specific flaws that turn you off completely.

Does the Witcher 3 have a certain level of quality above most other RPGs? Absolutely. Would I consider it among the best RPGs in my subjective opinion? Hell no.

I would say exactly that.

I think I understand what you're talking about though, because while Witcher 3 is classified as an RPG, I personally view it more as the world's most expansive action/adventure game that has RPG mechanics. You're looking for more pen and paper, classic RPG elements, I would guess.
