I understand it. Capcom milked the fans on the 3ds annually re using the same assets from the ps2 and psp days.. 

 

The fact the series was announced on ps4/xb1/pc and brought up to modern day standards was the best possible thing for the series but as usual a lot of haters spoke out against it at launch saying the game would bomb.
