I imagine it's because they know a lot of us (myself included) will gladly drop $60 for it lol
Nintendo benefits from the failure of the Wii U to some extent here in that many of these ports will likely reach players who never had a chance to play the original version.
Either way, games generally sell at a price point they think they can get away with but avoid negative headlines by stopping at the traditional $60. I was honestly rather surprised Dark Souls won't be full priced.
It's interesting that we treated games so different from other things, such as book reprints or film remasters to a better medium; people never mind the price there, even when they're often more expensive than they originally were.
