Good question.
My guess is: because they got away with overcharging for MK8D and Pokken Tournament DX in a similiar fashion. It's just that DKTP doesn't have any DLC to be included to mask how miniscule the actual update to the game is.
DKTP is an absolutely stellar game nonetheless and well worth the 60$, especially if you've never played it before. But as a potential double dipper I'll wait for a pricedrop, or buy used.
